Seeking Research, Technology and Pilot Partners for Digital Wellbeing Innovation

COO at Zopanta

Larnaca, Cyprus

About

Zopanta Ltd is a Cyprus-based digital wellbeing startup developing a mobile application and optional BLE-connected physical device designed to help people interrupt automatic doomscrolling and make more conscious decisions about their digital behaviour.

Our intervention changes the usual sequence between opening a social-media app and immediately scrolling. When a user attempts to access a selected app, Zopanta interrupts before the feed appears. In the device-assisted experience, the user completes a short physical task on the connected device and only then makes a conscious choice whether to stop or continue for a limited period.

We are currently looking for partners who can contribute to the next stage of Zopanta’s development and validation.

We are particularly interested in collaboration with:

• Universities and research organisations working in behavioural science, psychology, digital wellbeing, human-computer interaction, prevention or digital health.

• Technology companies with expertise in mobile applications, Bluetooth Low Energy, embedded systems, connected devices, sensors, firmware, electronics or hardware optimisation.

• Organisations interested in participating in pilot projects and structured user validation.

• Innovation clusters, accelerators and ecosystem organisations that can support international collaboration and market access.

• Partners interested in future Horizon Europe or other European research and innovation projects.

Zopanta is already collaborating with researchers from the University of Cyprus Department of Psychology on behavioural research and study design. The current research direction is focused on comparing digital-only interruption with device-assisted intervention and evaluating whether the physical interaction creates additional behavioural value over time.

From a technology perspective, we are also interested in improving the reliability, cost efficiency, manufacturability and scalability of the connected device while maintaining the quality of the physical interaction.

Potential forms of collaboration include joint research, behavioural studies, pilot projects, technology development, product testing, hardware and firmware optimisation, European consortium participation and international market validation.

Our objective at MEET in Italy for Life Sciences is to identify partners with complementary expertise and establish concrete follow-up discussions for research, technology development and pilot collaboration.
