Manuel Manzaneque Seleccion 2023

About

Variety: 60% Cencibel (Tempranillo), 35% Garnacha, 5% Bobal.

Old vineyards from the municipality of Villalgordo del Júcar. Traditional viticulture is practiced, practically organic and with low yields of about 15 Hl/ha. Always seeking healthy, ripe, and balanced grapes. An excellent raw material.

Soil types: Sandy in Cencibel and Bobal (Los Pozancos area) and calcareous, clay-calcareous, poor, stony, loose, and well-drained in Garnacha (Carmen area). Vintage with a very dry summer, with several waves of extreme heat. As a result, very early harvests, very low production, high concentration, and thanks to low yields, it has preserved freshness and tension.

Harvested in early September, at the optimal ripening time of each plot.

Vinification: Cold pre-fermentation maceration for 4 days at 12ºC for aroma extraction. Fermentation at 25ºC in stainless steel tanks with native yeast, seeking respect and typicity of the raw material. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation in barrel. Aging in used French oak barrels of 225 and 300 liters and in 4600-liter foudre for one year.

Manuel Manzaneque Selección is an elegant wine that perfectly represents the vineyard of Villalgordo del Júcar, in the purest "Vin de Village" style. Made with high-quality grapes and great respect for the raw material, obtaining a hedonistic, pleasant, fresh, fluid wine with good tension.
