Return of experience on MBSE adoption in space projects: challenges and solutions

The workshop consists of two back-to-back sessions of 1.5 hours each, with the objective to prepare the implementation of MBSE in new projects and to maximize the chance of a high ROI.

The first part of the session is dedicated to the identification of the challenges. ESA will provide a short introduction on the status of MBSE use in project lifecycles, along with an initial set of identified challenges and questions to the audience. The open discussion with participants will focus on consolidating and formulating these challenges. Any topic—such as organisational and procedural changes, project lifecycles, integration issues, security, etc.—will be considered.

Based on the outcomes of the first part of the session, the second part will focus on finding solutions to overcome the challenges. ESA will briefly introduce existing success stories before engaging the audience to share proposed solutions and identify ways forward to improve the effective adoption of MBSE in space projects.

Inputs from industry are expected throughout the entire workshop.

This workshop will also provide input to the afternoon World Café session.
