This workshop will demonstrate the capabilities of SysON, a web-based, collaborative, open-source, standard-compliant SysML v2 modeler, and its extensions for the space industry in the Ground and Space segment Engineering Framework version 3 (GSEF-v3).

The first session consists of a generic introduction to SysON. The session's purpose is to:

  • Discover how easy it is to model graphically in SysML v2 using the tool.

  • Exchange with external tools through import/export of textual notation or standard SysML v2 APIs.

  • Discover the reuse capabilities through library management.

  • Encourage further adoption of this open-source MBSE modeler.

In addition, this session will provide an overview of the IDEF (Integrated Web-Based Digital Engineering Framework) project's objectives and progress, as well as a representative view of the features that will be available to users.

The second session will showcase the adaptation of the generic SysML v2 tooling to your engineering domain, as done in the space domain GSEF-v3 framework. The session will:

  • Offer an understanding of the specific adaptations/customisations made for the space sector:

    • Authentication and authorisation management

    • Version control

    • Tailored diagrams and views for requirements engineering, system design, and testing

    • Methodology for space applications

    • Space domain libraries

    • Specific features (reviews, queries, validation, discussions...)

  • Showcase an initial practical experience and foster understanding of the applicability to future projects.

  • Encourage assessment, monitoring, and future use of the environment.

  • Gather initial feedback and discuss with the community of future users.
