Building Policy Capacity Through Collaboration
Associate Professor in politics and public policies at University Rey Juan Carlos/Good Governance Observatory
Madrid, Spain
About
The URJC Good Governance Observatory is a multidisciplinary center committed to advancing effective and inclusive public policymaking. We specialize in the analysis and evaluation of policies in several aeas.
Our expertise lies in identifying gaps in problem definition, improving policy implementation, and designing practical tools for policy evaluation. We conduct applied research across economics, sociology, law, and political science to generate evidence-based recommendations tailored to the needs of stakeholders at all levels of governance — from local authorities to European institutions.
Beyond research, we are dedicated to capacity-building and training for public officials, practitioners, and other key actors involved in policymaking. Through participatory and collaborative approaches, we help strengthen institutional capabilities, foster innovation, and enhance good governance practices.
We actively contribute to European and cross-border initiatives, working closely with partners to scale social innovation. Our goal is to ensure that policies not only respond to complex societal challenges but also empower communities and promote long-term resilience.
