About
PEGADAS DO CORAÇÃO - ASSOCIAÇÃO is a Portuguese non-profit organisation based in Madeira, dedicated to supporting children and young people with autism and other disabilities, as well as their families.
Our mission is to promote inclusion, equal opportunities, participation, wellbeing and greater autonomy for children and young people with disabilities. We seek to reduce the barriers they and their families face in accessing appropriate support, education, community participation and opportunities for personal development.
Our work is particularly focused on social and educational inclusion, family and community support, development of autonomy and life skills, and improving opportunities for children and young people with autism and disabilities to participate fully in society.
Based in Madeira, an EU outermost region, we can bring to European cooperation projects the perspective and practical experience of an organisation working directly with children, young people and families in a geographically isolated territory, where access to specialised and inclusive services can present additional challenges.
PEGADAS DO CORAÇÃO is interested in joining a transnational consortium under Strand I of the European Child Guarantee call. We are particularly interested in contributing to projects that develop, test and strengthen inclusive approaches for vulnerable children, including children and young people with disabilities and autism.
We are open to cooperation with public authorities, NGOs, social and community service providers, educational organisations and research institutions across Europe, contributing our experience with beneficiaries and families and supporting the implementation and testing of inclusive solutions in Madeira.
