Paraguay-EU Academic Matchmaking Sessions

The Paraguay-EU Academic Matchmaking Sessions is a virtual event organised in the framework of the Study in Europe Fair, a series of events led by the EU Delegation to Paraguay to foster academic partnerships, capacity building, and internationalisation through Erasmus+, Horizon Europe, and Team Europe programmes.

Representatives of higher education institutions from Europe and Paraguay are invited to connect and schedule individual meetings with potential partners to promote collaboration and mobility in education and research.

Paraguay is one of Latin America's fastest-growing economies, with a young, expanding higher education system and a research community actively seeking international collaboration. Its institutions are increasingly aligned with global priorities in digital transformation, sustainable development, and educational innovation, and are ideal partners to co-develop projects, mobility schemes, and joint proposals with European institutions.  

For Paraguayan institutions, this event offers direct access to European academic and research networks, funding frameworks, and potential partners with whom to build long-term international presence. 

This matchmaking event offers European and Paraguayan institutions a concrete opportunity to establish partnerships, identify and connect potential co-applicants ahead of upcoming Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe calls by meeting partners who: 

• Work in similar fields and/or have similar areas of interest. 

• Are interested in developing joint projects to advance education, research, innovation, and mobility. 

• Are looking to apply for upcoming Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe calls.

The target audience of this event includes: 

• Universities and academic institutions in Paraguay, the LAC region, and Europe 

• Public institutions involved in education, science, and technology. 

• Private sector, NGOs, and associations interested in contributing to joint education or research initiatives.

The virtual matchmaking sessions will take place from 15 to 17 September 2026, between 14:00 and 16:00 CET (09:00–11:00 PYT): 

• September 15th: Education 

  • Development of models, content, and capacities for education 

• September 16th: Digital transition 

  • Data science, digitalisation of industrial processes, cybersecurity, etc.

• September 17th: Green transition 

  • Sustainable forestry production, renewable energies, sustainable logistics, etc.

• Create your institution's profile and outline your areas of expertise and areas of interest in collaborations

• Browse participating institutions from Paraguay and EU Member States 

• Request and schedule 20-minute 1-to-1 meetings with potential partners 

• Publish your institution's collaboration interests and open opportunities, so other participants can identify synergies and reach out: open calls, research projects, mobility offers

1. Participants register on the matchmaking platform "B2Match" and update their profiles with their experience and collaboration interests.

2. Participants can browse through other profiles, filter and identify potential collaboration partners, and independently request and schedule 20-minute meetings through the platform. 

3. To facilitate connections, it is also possible to register for thematic matchmaking sessions.
