Simul is developing the Teleport Protocol, a real-time spatial network protocol for XR.
Roderick Kennedy received his doctorate from Oxford University in Plasma Physics, winning the Culham Thesis Prize for his work. His science-based approach has been the foundation of Simul's technology. Roderick bootstrapped Simul to 27% average growth in 2013-19, with customers including Sony, Microsoft, Bandai Namco, Lockheed, and Boeing. Simul won numerous awards and prizes for its innovation and services, including from TIGA and the British Computer Society.
In 2019, Roderick created what was to become the Teleport protocol: a real-time network protocol for XR applications. A judge for the VR Awards, he is involved with the VRARA, AIXR and Metaverse Standards Forum as part of efforts to ensure an open spatial internet for all.
