About
New photoelectrochemical technology converting CO2 to Carbon plus oxygen (C + O2) at room temperature and pressure. We produce pure 99.9% carbon GQDs in a single reaction step solubilized in water without the need for purification. Individual colors have been achieved adjusting the GQD size without purification, required for their use in displays. Sizes can be very small 1-3 nm, with homogeneous fluorescent emissions, as required for quantum computing Qbits. GQDs are not supposed to be toxic and are thus suitable for biological sensors.
We have scaled the reactor from 1 L to 20 L, and we are able to produce gram quantities. The cost of goods is roughly half of the sale price.
GQDs could potentially be a carbon-negative material using CO2 from biomass.
We are looking for partners to develop specific applications, and for partners to submit grants together.
