About
The Plastics Analytics Department at the Institute of Plastics and Circular Economy (IKK) provides comprehensive polymer characterization and material analysis to support plastics processing, recycling, product development, and quality assurance.
Equipped with state-of-the-art analytical infrastructure, the department applies spectroscopic, chromatographic, thermal, rheological, and microscopic methods, including FT-IR, Raman spectroscopy, Py-GC/MS, GPC/SEC, DSC, TGA and optical microscopy such as O-PTIR and FTIR with FPA detector.
The expertise covers polymer identification, additive and contaminant analysis, degradation assessment, recyclate quality evaluation, failure analysis, and inline/offline process analytics, enabling data-driven optimization of materials, recycling processes, and circular plastics solutions.
