Flanders Make is a Research & Technology Organisation (RTO) for the manufacturing industry (vehicles, machines, and factories of the future) with an annual budget of 90 million € and over 850 researchers based on four sites in Flanders (Leuven, Lommel, Kortrijk, Sint-Truiden). Its objective is to stimulate open innovation through excellent research and to support the Flemish and European manufacturing industry with a custom innovation trajectory by offering an extensive range of testing and validation infrastructure for products or production processes via its 3 co-creation centers, a drone cluster and 14 laboratories in collaboration with 5 Flemish universities (Ghent University, KU Leuven, University of Antwerp, University of Hasselt and Vrije Universiteit Brussel - VUB).

About me

I am a Senior Research Engineer and Project Leader at Flanders Make, with over 10 years of experience working at the intersection of AI, computer vision, embedded systems, and robotics. My focus has been on developing innovative perception and automation solutions for Industry 4.0/5.0 applications. Over the years, I’ve contributed to both national and EU-funded R&D projects, helping bridge the gap between academic research and industrial innovation. I’ve worked across diverse domains—from embedded vision and sensor fusion to real-time quality control, AR/VR operator support, and robotics integration—always with the aim of making research outcomes applicable and impactful.

In my role as project leader, I manage complex research projects from proposal definition to delivery, ensuring technical excellence, stakeholder alignment, and tangible results. I enjoy collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, mentoring junior researchers, and contributing to strategic discussions. I’m continuously learning and evolving—balancing technical depth with coordination and communication. My goal is to keep building meaningful solutions that support smarter, more sustainable, and human-centric industrial systems.
