About

QUB in Northern Ireland was founded in 1845 and is one of the oldest Universities in the UK. QUB is a member of the Russell Group of 24 leading UK research‐intensive universities, providing worldclass education underpinned by world‐class research. It has won the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education on five occasions – including for world‐class achievement in green chemistry and, environmental research. The collaboration between chemists and engineers provides a unique environment for research which is organized into two themes on Sustainability and Healthcare with strong links with chemical industry, underpinning Reaction Engineering and Catalysis. QUB has world‐class research facilities with expertise in all aspects of catalysis from design through to industrial application. Catalysis at QUB has been established in recognition that catalysis is a pivotal enabling technology that underpins between 30 and 40% of the gross domestic product of the technologically advanced European countries.
