Sustainable bio-based polymer/composite processing
Senior Lecturer/Associate professor at Queen's University Belfast
Belfast, United Kingdom
About
I have strong expertise in design and fabrication of novel bio-based polymer/composites (e.g. polysaccharides and proteins derived from agri-waste or food) for functional applications (e.g. biomedical, packaging, etc).
My current Royal Academy of Engineering & Leverhulme Trust fellowship focuses on developing novel degradable packaging material using agri-waste derived materials (e.g. proteins, polysaccharides, cellulose etc), supported by advanced green plasma technology. My research supports the UN sustainability goals, a circular economy, and achieving net zero emissions.
