The UK and Catalonia: complementary territories in the audiovisual sector

The UK and Catalonia have ideal characteristics for mutually seeking synergies in international projects and within their respective regions, as both territories boast a mature, competitive and, above all, complementary audiovisual sector.

In this context, the ISE (Integrated Systems Europe) fair, held in Barcelona, has become the ideal meeting point to foster these synergies, offering a unique space for companies from both territories to connect, exchange experiences and boost new international projects. While the United Kingdom stands out for its strength in production, the global reach of its platforms and its technical excellence in areas such as visual effects and sound, Catalonia contributes an agile, creative and highly specialised business ecosystem in production, animation and immersive solutions.

British–Catalan AV Matchmaking Breakfast

Take part in the breakfast organised by ACCIÓ, the Catalan Audiovisual Cluster and the British Consulate-General Barcelona, featuring business speed-dating sessions. It will take place on 4 February, in person, so that Catalan and British companies can hold the meetings previously arranged via the B2MATCH platform during the month of January.

Between meetings, companies will be able to join a standing networking session in the same space, allowing interaction with other profiles with whom they may not have arranged a meeting.

How does it work?

• Catalan companies interested in participating must register through the link provided on the B2MATCH platform.

• ACCIÓ will review the registration and validate that the profile meets the requirements before completing the information.

• During December and January, British companies will be able to validate their profiles on B2MATCH, although matchings will not be possible until 20 January.

• From 20 January onwards, permissions will be opened to select—with ACCIÓ’s support—companies from the other territory.

On 4 February, within the framework of the ISE fair, the British–Catalan AV Matchmaking Breakfast will take place in person, with speed-dating meetings.

This is why we have organised this unique event, which consists of a breakfast with business “speed datings,” to be held on February 4th during the ISE fair and in person, where companies will be able to hold the meetings they have arranged through this platform during January. 

Between meetings, companies participating will have the opportunity to participate in a standing networking in the same space where the matchmaking takes place, to facilitate interaction with other profiles with whom they have not arranged a meeting with previously.

This event will provide networking and collaboration opportunities for companies from the audiovisual sector in Catalonia and UK, offering them the chance to identify and establish connections with business partners from these regions: with highly skilled profiles with advanced technological development. All of this will take place within the framework of the ISE fair, a key platform for doing business, discovering emerging trends, and strengthening international connections within the audiovisual sector.
