MSCA PF: AI-Driven 3D Reconstruction & Digital Twins for Built Environments

PhD Candidate & Faculty Lecturer at Istanbul Bilgi University

İstanbul, Türkiye

About

I hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Architecture from Middle East Technical University and I am currently in the final stage of my PhD in Informatics at Istanbul Technical University. In parallel, I serve as a Faculty Lecturer in the Digital Game Design Department at Istanbul Bilgi University. My research operates at the intersection of architecture, computational design, artificial intelligence, and real-time immersive systems. Building on this interdisciplinary foundation, my graduate studies have focused on AI-driven 3D reconstruction from LiDAR-scanned point cloud data of real-world construction environments. I have developed deep generative models capable of producing alternative 3D spatial representations from raw datasets, enabling automated geometry reconstruction and adaptive modeling. This work has resulted in peer-reviewed publications in AI-based spatial systems and digital reconstruction.

The proposed MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship project aims to advance intelligent digital twin development for architecture and construction by extending these generative modeling approaches. The research will further integrate deep generative models, semantic enrichment techniques, and automated geometry synthesis into scalable reconstruction pipelines. Additionally, embedding these AI-driven models within real-time XR platforms will enable immersive interaction, lifecycle monitoring, and adaptive spatial analysis of complex built environments. By bridging architectural knowledge, computational modeling, and immersive AI systems, the project seeks to develop next-generation intelligent digital twins capable of transforming how built environments are modeled, analyzed, and managed.
