Vakhtang Lomjaria

Mr. Vakhtang Lomjaria is a head of Municipal Department of Economic Development, Tbilisi City Hall.  He began his term as a team member  of  WHO from  2023  within the project “Healthy  Cities” as a coordinator for Tbilisi.

He has 18 years  experience especially  in economic field as well as public and private sector.  Having qualified in business, education and analytical field. He began his career in broadcasting company. His international career started in 2008  in  UNDP. Correspondingly, in 2020 He joined team of “GIZ”, as a researcher.

From 2016, Mr. Lomjaria relieved   his abilities in educational field at universities and nowadays he is invited lecturer and professor’s  assistant  at  Georgian Institute of Public Affairs and at Ilia State University.

Mr. Lomjaria moved in public sector in 2014. He was a director of LEPL (Animals Monitoring Agency) and in “Administration of Georgian Government”, as an adviser in economic field.

Mr. Vakhtang has created publications on various topics.  Nowadays, he is working on Doctoral Research on: Sustainable economic development and urban poverty. 

A Georgian - National, Mr. Lomjaria is fluent in English and Russian. He is married and has two sons. He enjoys swimming, cycling and reading books.
