Petar Yankov

I’m Petar Iankov, an educator, coach, and leader in snow sports with over 30 years of experience in training students, developing academic programs, and coaching ski and snowboard professionals. I hold a Ph.D. in Theory and Methodology of Physical Education and Sports from the National Sport Academy "Vasil Levski", where I currently serve as the Head of the Department of Snow Sports.

My journey in sports education began in 1985, and over the years, I’ve held multiple teaching and coaching positions, including:

• Teacher in the Department of Snow Sports at the National Sport Academy "Vasil Levski" – where I train students in skiing, snowboarding, and sport animation, while also developing curricula and textbooks for bachelor’s, master’s, and distance learning programs.

• Programme Manager for Sport Animation – designing and implementing training programs for students.

• Alpine Coach at Primary Sport School 134 – responsible for training young athletes in skiing.

• Ski Instructor at Kids Sport School – teaching children the fundamentals of skiing and fostering a love for winter sports.

Additionally, I’ve been actively involved in international training programs, including Erasmus, and have led courses and workshops for ski instructors and coaches. Beyond academia, I serve as the Chairman of the Board of the "Bulgarian Ski School", working to improve instructor training and develop snow sports education in Bulgaria.

Fluent in Bulgarian, English, and Russian, I thrive in international environments, sharing my passion for skiing and winter sports with students and professionals worldwide. My mission is to advance teaching methodologies, coach education, and global collaboration in snow sports training.
