About me
Günther Aigner (b. 1977 in Kitzbühel) is the leading researcher on the future of skiing and ski tourism in the German-speaking countries. He gives keynote speeches at home and abroad and, as an expert in the media, contributes to public discourse. Aigner also passes on his knowledge as a guest lecturer at universities in Europe and Asia.
With his company ZUKUNFT SKISPORT, founded in 2013, Günther Aigner advises alpine destinations, ski resorts, and hardware (e.g. cable car systems) and software (e.g. access systems) manufacturers. Together with them, he develops marketing strategies for the challenges of the future. His work serves as a link between the academic-scientific realm of thought and practitioners in alpine tourism.
Günther Aigner graduated from the Universities of Innsbruck and New Orleans with a degree in Business Education and Sports Science. He then managed the winter marketing of Kitzbühel / Tyrol. In 2021, he returned to the University of Innsbruck, where he is closing the circle to academic research as a “PhD candidate” (doctorate in “Management”) and is working on research projects on the future of skiing.
