Günther Aigner (b. 1977 in Kitzbühel) is the leading researcher on the future of skiing and ski tourism in Europe. He gives lectures as a keynote speaker at home and abroad. As an expert in the media, he contributes to public discourse. In addition, Aigner passes on his knowledge as a guest lecturer at universities in Europe and Asia With his company ZUKUNFT SKISPORT, founded in 2013, Günther Aigner advises alpine destinations, ski resorts, and hardware (e.g. cable car systems) and software (e.g. access systems) manufacturers. Together with them, he develops marketing strategies for the challenges of the future. His work serves as a link between the academic-scientific realm and alpine tourism practitioners Günther Aigner graduated from the Universities of Innsbruck and New Orleans with a degree in Business Education and Sports Science. He then went on to manage winter marketing for Kitzbühel / Tyrol. In 2021, he returned to the University of Innsbruck, where he is closing the circle to academic research as a “PhD candidate” (doctorate in “Management”) and is working on research projects on the future of skiing.
