Digitalized Living Lab building of Eurecat for Built4People calls

The living lab building is located in Amposta, Spain, 170 kms south of Barcelona. It has a Mediterranean climate (Csa according to Köppen-Geiger classification and zone 1&2 according nZEB chart classification). It is one of the offices of Eurecat consisting of 2 floors of 145 m2 each floor area, and total gross volume of approx 1000 m3.

Eurecat can offer this building as a open 'test-bed' for testing innovating building constrution processes, materials and technologies for the built4people calls.

The building is equipped with a modular SCADA system, permitting to monitor and control the building’s consumptions, operating conditions, and meteorological data. The site also allows to monitor indoor air quality performance. Ready to test real energy performance and IEQ conditions of buildings before and after integration of new construction elements.

The building was designed following a circular approach such as carbon positive materials, modular systems, design for disassembly strategies among others allows testing (4 orientations + roof) passive and active technologies such as windows, pre-fabricated façades, insulation panels, sun shading elements and BIPV in real conditions.
