The key people leading ALTO Robotics are:

Jody Saglia, CEO: Co-founder of ALTO Robotics, Jody has played a central role in shaping the company’s vision, team, and mission. He is an expert manager with a strong technical background, holding a degree in Mechatronic Engineering from Turin (2007) and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from King’s College London (2010). Starting his career at the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT), he founded the Rehab Technology Facility in 2014, securing €7.4 million in funding for R&D and working as Principal Investigator on innovative healthcare-related technologies. In 2017, he co-founded Movendo Technology, leading a team of over 30 professionals and raising over €10 million in Series A funding in robotics. He served as CTO and Innovation Director, contributing to the company’s international expansion. In 2020, Jody joined Amazon as Head of the European Amazon Operations Innovation Lab, developing advanced automation technologies for logistics. Since 2022, he has been Chairman and CEO of ALTO Robotics. His career includes 25 scientific publications in robotics and five international patents granted.

Sara Bellini, CPO: Sara is the second-in-command and co-founder of ALTO Robotics. As Chief Product Officer, she has built the company’s strategic roadmap alongside Jody and introduced a new approach to Product Management and Product Ownership to drive innovation and product realization. She holds a Master’s in Design from Central Saint Martins, London, and has over 13 years of experience as a service designer in innovation projects across healthcare, energy, and fintech sectors, also consulting for prestigious international companies. Sara focuses on applying design to generate business value, working on interdisciplinary projects involving data scientists, psychologists, and architects. She brings a human-centered design mindset to ALTO, promoting a product-oriented approach from start to finish. Sara has also taught Service Design and Design Thinking at institutions including MIP, Politecnico, IED, and Bocconi University, coaching startups pro bono. She has published scientific articles on transdisciplinary design and data-driven design projects.
