Alexander Gerfer

As Chief Technology Officer, I am responsible for establishing the Würth Elektronik eiSos Group as a technology enabler and service leader. The company is one of Europe's largest manufacturers of electronic and electromechanical components and part of the Würth Group. I began my career at Würth Elektronik eiSos 28 years ago as a technical sales representative. Since then, I have held various positions in the company.

In my role as CTO, I particularly promote technology partnerships in future-oriented areas. With my expert knowledge, I passionately support and advise innovative start-ups, especially when they encounter unexpected technical problems in the implementation of their ideas.

In line with the principle ‘Electronics for Positive Impact’, I am committed to sustainable, environmentally friendly and socially forward-looking technologies. For example, our company is researching LED light recipes for optimal photosynthesis and more efficient electronics. At Würth Elektronik we particularly support innovative, ecological start-ups, for example in the areas of algae and mushroom cultivation, harvesting robots or biodiversity measurement.

During the course of my career, I have also played a key role in the development and expansion of research and development, as well as product, quality and supply chain management. As an author of specialist books, I present complex interrelations in an easy-to-understand and practical way. I am also a sought-after keynote speaker at conferences around the world.
