NSW’s grinding quality control system combines acoustic/vibration sensors, nEdge edge AI and nGuard analytics to monitor every grinding cycle in real time. It detects the first touch between the wheel and workpiece in milliseconds, enabling faster feed control, shorter cycle times and more stable machining. The same acoustic data supports tool replacement decisions and product quality optimization, reducing scrap, rework, downtime and operator-dependent quality checks. In the grinding use case, production efficiency increased by 15%.
