About
Project title: Lumbotix - Robotic Assistance System for Endoscopic Spine Surgery
Short description:
Lumbotix is a Hungarian medical robotics project developing a robotic assistance system for endoscopic spine surgery. The project is based on proprietary surgical know-how and aims to translate complex surgical steps into measurable spatial directions, controlled movements and quantitative parameters.
A working laboratory prototype has been developed and tested. The current TRL is estimated at TRL 4, and the next phase aims to reach TRL 6 through further technical development and cadaver-based demonstration.
The project is seeking international partners for a potential Eurostars / Eureka R&D cooperation.
Partners sought:
· Surgical navigation / neuronavigation / imaging integration partner
· Precision medical device or surgical instrument development partner
· Clinical or academic partner for cadaver-based validation in spine surgery
Main development areas:
· 3D anatomical localisation and navigation
· Robotic access to the spine
· Robot-compatible precision surgical tools
· Cadaver-based demonstration and usability feedback
IP note: The project includes proprietary surgical know-how and planned IP protection for specific instruments and tool-changing solutions. Detailed technical information can be shared under NDA.
