End-of-life vehicle and component identification for the e-mobility data space (HORIZON-CL5-2027-03-D5-03)

Founder and Principal Engineer at Apex Technology Enterprises Ltd

About

Call: HORIZON-CL5-2027-03-D5-03, data-driven circular economy for the e-mobility ecosystem.

Project idea: vehicle and component identification at end of life. Number plate recognition and document verification at depots and dismantlers, captured offline-first, feeding a traceability data space for battery and component reuse.

Objectives: automated identification of vehicles and components on arrival. Verification of ownership and provenance documents. Reliable capture at depots with poor connectivity. An open data model that circularity reporting can consume.

Expected results: demonstrators at two depot or dismantler sites, measured identification accuracy and handling time saved against manual processing, and an open API into the mobility data space.

Apex role: number plate and document recognition, edge and cloud inference, and the API into the traceability data space. Apex runs DriverScan, an ALPR and document recognition API in production for years. PIC 863416692, eligible as a full Horizon Europe partner.

Partners still needed: a coordinator, a fleet operator, depot or dismantler willing to host a pilot, and a research partner on circular economy and materials recovery.

Deadline dates: 2027 calls, exact dates per the EU Funding and Tenders Portal.
