Human-Centred AI, Immersive Learning and Responsible Technology Adoption

Our research team offers interdisciplinary expertise at the intersection of educational technology, human-centred artificial intelligence, immersive learning and responsible technology adoption.

We support European research and innovation projects in designing, implementing and evaluating AI- and XR-enabled interventions for education, healthcare training, professional development and digital inclusion. Our contribution focuses particularly on the human, educational and behavioural dimensions that determine whether emerging technologies are used effectively, safely and equitably.

Our expertise includes:

• Human–AI interaction, technology acceptance, trust and perceived risk

• Artificial intelligence literacy, prompt literacy and professional competency development

• AI anxiety and psychological responses to emerging technologies

• Identification and assessment of AI hallucinations, bias and epistemic risks

• Development of task-sensitive AI risk and evaluation frameworks

• Instructional design for AI-supported and adaptive learning environments

• Virtual, augmented and mixed reality learning and simulation

• Design and evaluation of immersive first-aid and emergency training

We can contribute to Horizon Europe and other European projects through needs analysis, conceptual and competency framework development, user-centred and participatory design, intervention design, pilot implementation, evaluation, validation, ethical-risk analysis, stakeholder engagement and impact assessment.

We are particularly interested in joining multidisciplinary consortia working on trustworthy AI, frontier AI in healthcare, digital health training, immersive simulation, women in technology, digital inclusion, professional learning and responsible human–AI collaboration.
