Dr Fadi Assad is an accomplished mechanical and industrial engineer with a deep commitment to advancing sustainable manufacturing through innovative technologies.
Currently, he is a Lecturer in Smart, Clean, and Green Manufacturing at the Sustainable Manufacturing Systems Center, Cranfield University. He designs and delivers courses while leading research on sustainable and advanced manufacturing processes. He holds a PhD in Intelligent Systems, an MSc in Production Engineering, and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering (Industrial Engineering).
With over a decade of experience spanning academia and industry, Dr Assad has developed expertise in intelligent systems design using his skills in computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools and programming . His career includes roles such as Research Fellow at WMG, University of Warwick (2022–present), where he conceptualizes manufacturing technologies for industrial partners, and Proposal Development Lead at the Commercialization Pillar of Coventry University Services.
Dr Assad's research, reflected in 15 peer-reviewed publications focuses on digital twins, energy efficiency, and Industry 4.0. He is a member of IEEE and an Associate Fellow of Advance HE, he combines technical proficiency with strong communication and project management skills, evidenced by his leadership in grant proposals and conference organizing.
Passionate about sustainability, Dr Assad seeks to optimize design and production processes, making him a dynamic contributor to interdisciplinary engineering challenges.
