About

Partner with ACR Materials

ACR Materials works with research institutions, manufacturers, and technology developers to advance applications of our Catalytic Material Platform: a carbonized nano-fibrous matrix with alloy catalyst nanoparticles grown throughout it using our nanoparticle synthesis process.

Our focus

  • Primary: Low-platinum, PFAS-free gas diffusion electrodes (GDEs) for fuel cells and electrolyzers

  • Beyond hydrogen: R&D collaborations that apply our platform and materials know-how to other fields, including:

    • CO2 capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS)

    • Other applications where a tunable, high-surface-area nanoparticle-on-nanofiber architecture can add value

Ways to collaborate

  • Joint pilots: Validate our materials in your own system or process

  • Joint R&D projects: Adapt the platform to new catalyst chemistries, matrix designs, or application areas beyond hydrogen, such as CCUS

  • Benchmarking studies: Compare our materials against conventional approaches on the metrics that matter for your application

  • Funding co-applications: Apply together for EU and national funding

Example: the GARFIELD project

ACR Materials is the industrial partner in GARFIELD, an ongoing FFG-funded research project (2025–2028) with Montanuniversität Leoben and the University of Vienna. The project is developing next-generation GDEs for proton exchange membrane fuel cells, aiming for more efficient, scalable, and cost-effective systems in line with EU and Austrian hydrogen strategies.

We are equally keen to build similar collaborations in adjacent fields such as CCUS, using the same platform and materials expertise.
