From pregnancy to early childhood: innovative solutions for the detection of complications and follow-up
Innovation at DKV Servicios
Barcelona, Spain
About
We are looking for disruptive digital solutions specifically in obstetrics and pediatrics that address one of the following areas, always with a clear specialization in maternal and child health and the ability to be integrated into care pathways:
Pregnancy complications: innovative solutions aimed at the early detection and monitoring of relevant obstetric risks and complications, as well as the identification of warning signs.
Illustrative examples: preeclampsia, risk of preterm birth, etc.
Neonates and post-discharge transition: innovative solutions that enable safe early discharge and reduce emergency visits and readmissions by monitoring the newborn at home and enabling early detection of clinical alerts, with a focus on the mother–newborn dyad.
Illustrative examples: at-home neonatal screening (heel prick test, hearing screening, congenital heart disease screening), jaundice, feeding and weight gain, respiratory, digestive or metabolic issues, among others.
Important: These are different sub-challenges; solutions are not required to address both areas.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Inclusion
-
Differentiation and innovation: clearly innovative and differentiated solutions in the market, using disruptive technologies.
-
Value proposition: clear impact for both the insurance business and the private hospital environment.
-
User: solutions must involve healthcare professionals, regardless of the potential involvement of families.
-
Scale of impact: priority will be given to solutions with the potential to impact a relevant population size.
-
Focus on early detection, diagnosis and/or monitoring.

User-friendly and accessible UX: the design and usability of the solution must consider the needs of the target segment, provide an easy-to-use experience, and comply with the European Accessibility Act.
-
Ready for adoption: a CIMIT level above 6 will be required.
-
Spanish market adaptation plan: if the company is not Spanish, applications must include a plan to adapt the solution to the Spanish population.
