Progenus is a Belgian SME specialized in molecular biology, DNA-based testing and applied R&D. We develop and validate molecular methods for animal health, agri-food, biotechnology, diagnostics, bioeconomy and environmental applications.
Our core expertise includes PCR, qPCR, LAMP, assay development and validation, DNA extraction, Sanger sequencing, NGS, bacterial whole genome sequencing, nanopore sequencing, molecular identification and animal genetics. We work with complex biological matrices and support projects from feasibility assessment and method design to optimisation, analytical validation and implementation.
Progenus has experience in European collaborative research and innovation projects, including the DETECTIVE project, working with academic and industrial partners on the development of molecular tools and analytical solutions.
We are particularly interested in contributing to Horizon Europe projects related to One Health, biodiversity, animal-environment interactions, DNA-based monitoring, species identification, invasive species, microbial detection, diagnostics, food authenticity and traceability, and bio-based systems monitoring.
As an SME operating at the interface between research and practical deployment, we can contribute analytical expertise, custom molecular method development, sequencing capabilities, validation activities and applied R&D support within collaborative work packages.
For the current Horizon Europe NATURE calls, Progenus is particularly interested in joining consortia working on biodiversity-health interactions, One Health, cost-effective biodiversity monitoring and molecular approaches to species detection and identification.
We are looking to collaborate as an R&D and analytical partner within consortia coordinated by experienced European partners.
