BLUTECHNOVA | HORIZON EUROPE RESEARCH & INNOVATION PARTNERSHIP
Topic: HORIZON-NATURE-2027-04-01 – A Stronger Global Ocean Observing System
ABOUT BLUTECHNOVA
Blutechnova is an Egyptian deep-tech SME developing next-generation AI-powered Coastal Environmental Intelligence and Early Warning Infrastructure. We are seeking to join a Horizon Europe consortium as a technology and implementation partner.
OUR TECHNOLOGY
Our advanced MVP integrates artificial intelligence, IoT-enabled environmental sensors, smart monitoring buoys, coastal computer vision, autonomous surface and underwater marine technologies, and a unified environmental data platform.
The system is being developed to support multi-source ocean and coastal observations, water-quality and pollution monitoring, marine biodiversity assessment, coral reef health analysis, environmental anomaly detection, and early warning.
POTENTIAL CONTRIBUTIONS TO A CONSORTIUM
-
Co-development and integration of cost-effective in-situ marine sensing and smart buoy systems.
-
AI-supported analysis of environmental, image and underwater observation data.
-
Multi-sensor data fusion, real-time dashboards, and decision-support workflows.
-
Prototyping and testing of autonomous marine platforms for data collection and verification.
-
Development and evaluation of interoperable observation workflows, datasets and interfaces aligned with consortium requirements and relevant Essential Ocean Variables.
-
Technical validation and potential coastal demonstration activities in Egypt's Red Sea, subject to site access, permits and consortium design.
PARTNERS WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We welcome discussions with prospective project coordinators, oceanographic and marine research institutes, universities, GOOS-connected observing organisations, ocean data infrastructures, environmental technology providers, and public agencies.
We are particularly interested in partners with expertise and operational access in open-ocean and under-observed regions, ocean-observing network optimisation, observation standards, and open, reusable marine data.
COLLABORATION GOAL
Our objective is to contribute complementary sensing, AI and marine robotics capabilities to an ambitious, internationally coordinated ocean-observing project.
The Red Sea is our initial technology validation environment; we are seeking established European and international partners to adapt and validate relevant components within broader ocean observation systems.
STATUS AND PROPOSED ROLE
Technology maturity: Advanced MVP development and validation.
Proposed role: SME Technology Partner / Work Package Contributor.
We are open to jointly refining the technical scope, work packages, pilot arrangements and Horizon Europe proposal with an experienced project coordinator.
