Scientific collaboration for nature restoration Living Labs: systemic risk, finance, governance and capacity building

Executive Director at C-ECO INSTITUTE

About

The c-ECO Institute, a US nonprofit research institute, offers a developing framework for anticipatory systemic risk governance (TDR–TFP) as a basis for joint research within Horizon Europe NATURE consortia.

We seek to co-develop methods connecting ecological evidence, interdependencies and early-warning signals with restoration decisions, financing and institutional responses. Potential contributions include scientific modelling and validation design; evidence organisation through the developing Systemic Intelligence Layer (SIL); financial risk and restoration funding research; contractual and governance arrangements; and capacity building through our developing Fellowship programme.

These activities could connect European restoration projects with our planned Labs in the Amazon, London, Geneva and Tromsø, supported by a separate Global Integration Hub. A proposed flood-resilience pilot in Manaus, Brazil, remains pending.

We welcome partners interested in shaping a focused contribution together. The framework requires empirical validation, and the Labs are in development. We seek a consortium partner role, with scope, resources and funding arrangements to be agreed.
