Geospatial Evidence for Biodiversity Assessments of Clean Energy and Extraction Sites
Managing Director at Kolibree-Tech
Rome, Italy
About
Kolibree-Tech is seeking Horizon Europe partners investigating the biodiversity benefits, pressures and impacts associated with clean energy infrastructure and extraction activities.
Through XSensee, our Earth observation and AI platform, we offer existing capabilities in solar plant detection and monitoring, high-voltage corridor assessment, mine and quarry candidate screening, and surrounding land-cover analysis.
Our contribution can provide:
-
Candidate solar installations and extraction sites for comparison with trusted registries.
-
Dated observations of visible changes at known sites and in surrounding land.
-
Vegetation and land-use context along infrastructure corridors.
-
Spatial evidence to select locations for ecological surveys and local verification.
Our proprietary super-resolution reconstructs Sentinel-2 optical imagery on a 1 m output grid, supporting finer territorial review at lower cost.
We propose to develop and validate a geospatial evidence component within a broader biodiversity assessment. Site observations would be combined with habitat information, biological surveys and the assessment methods agreed by the consortium. Candidate sites require local confirmation; ecological impacts would be evaluated with the relevant scientific partners.
We are looking for consortium coordinators, biodiversity and ecosystem researchers, industrial and infrastructure operators, environmental assessment specialists and public authorities with suitable case studies and reference data.
