Satellite Water Intelligence for Aquatic Biodiversity Monitoring

Managing Director at Kolibree-Tech

Rome, Italy

About

Kolibree-Tech is seeking Horizon Europe consortia that need an Earth observation partner to connect satellite water indicators with aquatic biodiversity observations.

Our XSensee Marine & Water Intelligence service provides spatial and historical context for coastal water assessments. Existing capabilities include chlorophyll-a and suspended matter mapping, together with temperature and salinity information where suitable datasets are available.

We propose joint demonstrations that use satellite evidence to:

  • Identify contrasting water conditions and select locations for field sampling.

  • Examine spatial and temporal patterns across suitable observations.

  • Relate environmental indicators to biological reference observations.

  • Develop shared interpretation and validation workflows with monitoring teams.

Our proprietary super-resolution reconstructs Sentinel-2 optical imagery on a 1 m output grid for coastal land and shoreline context. Water indicators retain the information scale of their source data.

We are looking for aquatic ecologists, eDNA and species-identification specialists, monitoring authorities, research infrastructures and consortium coordinators. Partners would provide the biological and genomic expertise, sampling protocols and reference measurements needed to assess biodiversity.

Demonstration environments, data availability and any extension beyond the current coastal applications would be agreed and validated with the consortium.
