Marine, Coastal and Wetland Biodiversity Monitoring – Partner for Horizon Europe NATURE 2027
Assoc. Prof. at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Biodiversity Research Group
Çanakkale, Türkiye
About
We are seeking to join Horizon Europe NATURE 2027 consortia as a research partner, particularly in projects focusing on biodiversity monitoring, biodiversity decline, ecosystem restoration, and marine, coastal and wetland ecosystems.
Our team at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Türkiye, has expertise in fisheries biology, marine and coastal ecology, population dynamics, biodiversity assessment and ecological monitoring. Our research includes field-based studies on fish and aquatic invertebrates, covering population structure, age and growth, reproduction, recruitment and species–environment relationships. We also have experience and interest in bird and butterfly monitoring, particularly in wetlands and coastal habitats.
Located in the Çanakkale region, at the interface of the Aegean Sea and the Sea of Marmara, we can contribute valuable case-study areas representing marine, coastal, lagoon and wetland ecosystems. Our contribution may include field surveys, biological sampling, biodiversity and population monitoring, ecological assessment, data collection and validation, and long-term monitoring activities.
We are particularly interested in collaborating with interdisciplinary consortia developing innovative and cost-effective biodiversity monitoring approaches, assessing drivers of biodiversity decline, restoring degraded ecosystems and strengthening the observation and conservation of marine and coastal biodiversity.
We are open to contributing as a project partner, regional case-study partner or field monitoring partner and welcome collaboration with universities, research institutes, NGOs, public authorities, technology providers and other relevant stakeholders.
