About
ICCRAM, University of Burgos (Spain), offers expertise for HORIZON-NATURE-2027-02-02, with a strong focus on soil health, ecosystem restoration, Nature-based Solutions, monitoring/MRV and sustainability assessment in real-life Living Lab settings.
Our team works across environmental biotechnology, soil restoration, microbiology and toxicology, sustainability and circular economy, and has experience in European multi-actor projects involving degraded agricultural and contaminated sites. ICCRAM can connect field experimentation with harmonised indicators, environmental assessment and pathways for replication and upscaling. We have experience with Living Labs since we coordinated the HE project InBestSoil, which included 2 living labs and 7 lighthouses.
We can contribute to:
· baseline assessment of soil and ecosystem condition and definition of restoration trajectories;
· soil-health, biodiversity and physicochemical indicators and harmonised MRV/KPI frameworks;
· Nature-based Solutions, bioremediation/phytoremediation and agroecological restoration approaches;
· field demonstration in degraded, contaminated or saline soils and agricultural landscapes;
· environmental, social and economic sustainability assessment, including LCA/LCC/S-LCA where relevant;
· stakeholder co-creation, multi-actor activities, replication and exploitation of restoration solutions;
· data integration, proximal/remote sensing and evidence-based monitoring of restoration outcomes.
We are interested in WPs/tasks on baseline characterisation, soil restoration, monitoring/MRV, impact assessment or demonstration.
