Brunel University of London
About
Brunel University of London has an excellent record of translating research into public benefit. We work with hundreds of businesses each year on Innovate UK projects, helping them develop innovative products and processes. Each year, we work with countless SMEs in the London area through our ERDF-funded Co-Innovate programme and with innovation vouchers, helping those businesses develop their first innovation programme and getting them onto an innovation escalator. Our incubator and accelerator, Making the Future Digital, has a high profile across London. Since 2014, it has provided a range of support options to early-stage companies in the product design sector, including access to physical and digital prototyping facilities.
The Centre for AI at Brunel University of London brings together academics with expertise across computer science, engineering, human-centred design, the health sciences, the social sciences, AI regulation, AI ethics, and health economics, among others. The Brunel Centre for AI works in close collaboration with the Brunel Design School, which enables the team to draw on additional expertise across industrial design, additive manufacturing, design for healthcare innovation, design for sustainability, and inclusive design, among others.
We provide support to project activities, including: development of ML, AI, and data science pipelines; digital technology development; stakeholder mapping and engagement; design, implementation, and analysis of data from participatory design activities (e.g. interviews, focus groups) and co-design workshops with technology users and stakeholders; development and evaluation of innovation strategies, with emphasis on innovations enabled by digital technologies. We are seeking collaborative research opportunities. Do not hesitate to reach out (federico.colecchia@brunel.ac.uk).
