The Network Control Lab is a laboratory of Dipartimento di Ingegneria Informatica, Automatica e Gestionale “Antonio Ruberti” (DIAG) of the University of Rome "La Sapienza" also hosting an operational base of the no-profit consortium CRAT. Over the years, the laboratory has gained experience in the context of European and national projects, in which it has acted both as a partner and coordinator, boasting skills regarding the modeling of industrial processes and related optimization with respect to cost, safety and performance constraints, both with classical control methodologies, for example Model Predictive Control (MPC), Proportional Integrative Derivative (PID) control, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Optimal, Adaptive and Robust Control, and intelligent control data-driven, based on the use of artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML) techniques, for example neural networks, genetic algorithms. In addition, the laboratory boasts expertise in the use of AI/ML for the control of dynamic systems in numerous application fields, such as health, industrial, energy, space and biomedical. For instance, for various application fields, we have developed Intelligent Decision Support Systems (IDSSs), innovative distributed federated learning solutions, innovative methodologies for data augmentation, etc. The laboratory has actively partecipated in more than 40 European projects related to the above-mentioned topics.
