Vitruvio Virtual Reality

About

Vitruvio Virtual Reality is an Italian XR studio and a brand of ASSA srl, active in immersive and interactive media since 2013.

Our multidisciplinary team brings together creative directors, designers, authors, XR developers and 3D artists with complementary expertise in storytelling, interaction design, visual development, real-time technologies and immersive production.

We support projects across the entire XR production pipeline: from concept development, research, writing and experience design to 3D production, Unity/Unreal development, interaction design, integration, testing and final delivery.

We can both originate XR concepts and act as a development and production partner for projects conceived by universities, research organisations, cultural institutions, companies and other consortium partners, transforming ideas, research results and emerging technologies into complete, functional and engaging immersive experiences.

Our expertise includes Virtual and Augmented Reality, real-time 3D environments, Unity and Unreal Engine development, UX/UI for immersive experiences, digital characters, interactive simulations, gaming, virtual storytelling and technology demonstrators.

Our XR works have been presented in leading Italian contemporary art museums and cultural institutions. We have also developed two interactive documentary experiences for INAF – the Italian National Institute for Astrophysics, and we are currently developing Lucky Shot, a VR videogame based on highly interactive object manipulation and physical interaction mechanics. Our immersive film production also includes a VR short film currently being submitted to international immersive and film festivals.

Within European R&I projects, Vitruvio can contribute as an XR development, production, integration and demonstrator partner, supporting both technology-driven research projects and content-driven immersive experiences.

We are particularly interested in collaborations involving advanced XR interaction, haptics, wearable technologies, hand and body tracking, spatial computing, multimodal interfaces, AI-driven virtual environments, digital humans and new forms of immersive storytelling.

Our contribution can include:

  • concept and experience development

  • narrative and interactive design

  • XR application development

  • Unity and Unreal Engine production

  • 3D environments, assets and digital characters

  • hardware and software integration

  • prototyping and demonstrator development

  • testing and user-oriented validation

  • complete XR production and delivery

We work across different application areas, including industry and manufacturing, culture and creative industries, education and training, entertainment, retail and business applications.

We are looking to collaborate with universities, research organisations, technology companies, hardware developers, cultural institutions, industrial partners, consortium coordinators and WP leaders within Horizon Europe and other EU-funded R&I programmes.

Our goal is to bridge research, technology, creativity and production, turning concepts and emerging technologies into complete XR experiences that can be tested, demonstrated and brought to real users.
