Technology Park Ljubljana (TPLJ) is more than just a technology and innovation community; with more than 300 members, TPLJ is not only a hub for technological advancement but also a catalyst for knowledge transfer and entrepreneurship development. TPLJ brings together entrepreneurs, creatives, innovators and researchers working in the fields of ICT, circular economy, health and smart technology development, while fostering the development of solutions and visions that address social, societal and environmental challenges. The mission of the Technology Park, as a business development support organisation, is to support the growth and development of technology stories, projects and businesses. The broader vision is to build a sustainable and better world through the integration of technology, knowledge and creativity. With its entrepreneurial, health and XR communities, the Technology Park Ljubljana is also heavily involved in educational activities, as it regularly cooperates with schools and colleges, and at the same time it also conducts training on various topics. TPLJ is also one of the key points of the Erasmus project for young entrepreneurs in Slovenia. In 2019, TPLJ founded the XR laboratory, dedicated to the development of projects in the field of virtual and augmented reality and support of the XR community operating in this field. TPLJ also regularly organises global XR conferences and is one of the initiators of the World Metaverse Council, a professional XR association with over 700 world-wide members from a wide range of immersive technologies. TPLJ was founded by the Municipality of Ljubljana and institutes and technology companies and operates as a non-profit business support organization. It generates income from economic activities mainly by renting real estate, with a smaller part coming from consulting and technology services. The Ljubljana Technology Park team, which employs more than 16 people, has been taking care of the development of innovative technological solutions, conducting various trainings and events for more than 25 years, while working in the field of integration, community building, and coordination and management of projects at the national and European level. TPLJ has implemented (2014-2023) over 40 national and international projects (Erasmus, Interreg, Horizen,...). One of the main focuses of TPLJ is also internationalization and cooperation with international partners and experts. TPLJ is also a member of the IASP (international science park association) and the Center for Creativity, which operates under the auspices of the Museum of Architecture and Design. TPLJ is one or the initiator of the XR and Web4.0 Slovenian national Partnership for the Development of Digital Competencies, which aims to bring together experts, educational institutions, mentors, companies, organisations and leading practitioners in the field of Virtual and Augmented Reality (XR) technologies in the XR Partnership for the Development of Digital Competencies.
