I am currently an Asst. Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Ozyegin University, Turkey. I have main research interests on flood and earthquake risk modeling for building structures, probabilistic multi-hazard impact analyses, resilient and sustainable building design & mitigation, and risk-based decision-making. Since I joined Ozyegin University in 2017, I have coordinated and involved in several national and EU research projects, totally 11 projects: 4 TÜBİTAK-funded national projects (3 PIs and 1 consultant); 1 EU Horizon 2020-MSCA project under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie grant agreement No. 893147 (PI); 3 UK-funded projects granted by Royal Academy of Engineering-Frontiers of Development Program (all co-PIs); and, 3 industry-funded projects, including consulting services to the Turkish Catastrophe Insurance Pool in the development of national insurance premiums for flood risk in Turkey.
