Pre-seed Investment for Medtech Startup

9.53 million europeans are living with stroke; 1 in 4 people will suffer from a stroke during their lifetime and what's even more alarming is that this is happening at even younger ages.

Braining (brainingai.com) is a medtech startup reshaping post-stroke rehabilitation using virtual reality (VR) and artificial intelligence (AI). Our platform delivers adaptive, personalised therapy sessions that evolve with each patient's functional profile and recovery progress, addressing key limitations in traditional clinical rehabilitation.

We recreate real-life environments where patients engage in targeted motor, cognitive, and speech therapy tasks. These sessions are fully customisable, and real-time performance data is captured to guide both treatment and clinical analysis.

We are currently onboarding multiple healthcare clients and partners who are excited to adopt Braining as part of their rehabilitation offering. To accelerate time-to-market, our initial launch will focus on an AI-based stroke assessment platform. This tool will analyse patient performance and automatically generate personalised rehabilitation recommendations, mortality rate, summarization of the patient's health state, among other features, serving as a first step towards our full VR therapeutic suite.

In parallel, we are validating our full VR system in a semi-controlled clinical testbed in partnership with the Centre for Rehabilitation Research (CIR) at the School of Health, P.PORTO. We are also developing a functional scoring algorithm that quantifies patient performance based on movement quality, accuracy, timing, and task completion — enabling personalised therapy, clinician insights, and anonymised datasets for system improvement.

We are now seeking pre-seed investment to:

• Finalise and deploy the AI assessment platform;

• Continue development of the VR-based therapy environments;

• Expand our clinical validation efforts;

• Grow our technical team and infrastructure;

• Advance regulatory preparation and early market entry (late 2025)
