About

OYASİS (AI-Supported Early Wildfire Detection and Decision Support System) aims to develop an integrated, low-power IoT sensor network combined with edge-AI and decision support algorithms to detect wildfires at their very early stage—prior to visible smoke or flame formation—by monitoring gas emissions (CO, H₂), micro-climate parameters, and environmental anomalies.

The system integrates:

  • Multi-sensor fusion (gas, temperature, humidity, pressure, meteorological data),

  • Edge computing and embedded AI for local anomaly detection and risk scoring,

  • Hybrid wireless communication architectures (Wi-SUN / LoRaWAN / cellular backhaul),

  • AI-based fire spread prediction and decision support tools for emergency authorities.

OYASİS addresses key European challenges related to:

  • Climate change–driven wildfire risks,

  • Protection of biodiversity and natural ecosystems,

  • Reduction of carbon emissions caused by large-scale forest fires,

  • Faster and more effective emergency response.

Type of Partners Sought

We are particularly interested in collaborating with:

  • Universities and research institutes working on AI, sensor fusion, edge computing, wildfire modelling, or environmental sciences,

  • Industrial partners with expertise in IoT hardware, communication technologies, satellite or meteorological data integration,

  • Public or semi-public organizations involved in forestry management, civil protection, or climate resilience.

Expected Role in the Consortium

Our organization aims to contribute as:

  • Technology provider for IoT sensor nodes, embedded systems, and communication infrastructure,

  • Co-developer of AI-based early detection and decision support modules,

  • Pilot deployment and validation partner in real forest environments, particularly in Mediterranean climate regions.

We believe OYASİS has strong potential to evolve into a scalable European wildfire monitoring solution, aligned with the EU Green Deal, Horizon Europe Cluster 5 objectives, and Disaster Risk Reduction policies.

We welcome expressions of interest from potential partners to jointly shape a competitive Horizon Europe proposal.
