Integrated technologies for safe and efficient, sustainable building retrofitting
Associate Professor at University of Ferrara, Dpt of Architecture at University of Ferrara, Department of Architecture

About
The proposal regars technological solutions for the integrated seismic and energy retrofit of buildings, at low cost, with limited impact, and sustainable throughout the entire life cycle. The project's objective is to develop an integrated system of dry mountable technologies for the retrofit of existing buildings, characterized by:
-
high structural effectiveness: reducing the building's seismic vulnerability through the use of comprehensive intervention solutions (wooden shell), local reinforcement technologies (wall panels, reinforced concrete frame infill, stairwells), and foundation intervention techniques;
-
high energy and environmental efficiency (reduction of energy requirements and resulting emissions by limiting heat loss and heat gain through the building envelope);
-
reduced environmental impact (durable interventions carried out with limited use of non-renewable resources and secondary raw materials; attention to the entire life cycle);
-
limited impact on the building's functions during the renovation (work can be performed without interrupting use);
-
high durability (also guaranteed through the use of performance monitoring technologies).
