About
Doğuş Teknoloji (DT) offers critical capabilities in real-time data management, processing, and quality assurance that are essential for achieving the call's expected outcomes, specifically by enhancing climate data quality, strengthening EU data sovereignty, and facilitating the distillation of climate information for policymaking. Our contribution spans all three priority areas (A, B, and C).
1. Data Acquisition and Standardization
We address the need for enhanced and expanded climate data records (Priority A) by managing the complex process of data ingestion:
· Real-time Collection and Standardization: We can implement solutions for the real-time collection of data from IoT devices and other monitoring sources, standardizing them, and writing them reliably to single or multiple Databases/DataLakes. This supports the exploitation of new, rescued, or proxy data streams.
· Time-Series Alignment: We transform unbounded incoming data into bounded data that is fully compliant with time-series analysis requirements, making the data immediately usable for reanalyses and advanced climate applications (Priority B).
2. In-Stream Processing and Data Consistency
To ensure the physical consistency and enhanced quality required for next-generation systems:
· Synthetic Data Generation: We can execute calculations or rules in real-time during data processing to generate new synthetic data from raw inputs. This capability is key to improving the physical and bio-geochemical consistency across data records (Priority A) and coupling Earth system components (Priority B).
3. Quality Assurance and Resilience
We contribute to strengthened data sovereignty and sustained production quality (Priority C) by focusing on data integrity:
· Alert Mechanisms: We can implement robust alert mechanisms triggered within specific windows to detect and signal instances of anomaly, aggressive change, or erroneously produced data. This provides essential quality assurance for climate forcings and emissions data (Priority C) and helps in the assessment and mitigation of impacts from monitoring network divestment.
4. Data Service and Knowledge Distillation
We facilitate the efficient distillation of information for policy (Expected Outcome 3) and promote data accessibility (FAIR principles):
· Data Aggregation and Servicing: We can aggregate the collected data, either instantly or at set intervals, and securely serve it through dashboard environments or API endpoints. This accelerates the process of transforming climate data into actionable knowledge.
· Access Management: We ensure secure and controlled data access by providing necessary authentication and authorization management, thereby reinforcing data sovereignty and responsible data usage.
We aim to support the following scopes of the call:
- Actions should advance innovative methods to enhance, expand and update climate data records; exploit recently rescued and/or new data streams; develop innovative methods to improve the water-energy-carbon cycle physical and bio-geochemical consistency across data records; and improve their applicability for users.
- All actions should promote the development and use of new, rescued or proxy data streams, and innovative digital tools and methods, including AI-based, to transform climate data into actionable knowledge. These efforts should align with, build upon, and support global intercomparison and coordination frameworks such as CMIP, promoting standardisation, accessibility and utility of climate information across climate science and service user communities, with due consideration of FAIR principles.
