Novel approaches towards next-generation battery concepts, leveraging the enabling role of innovative advanced materials (BATT4EU and IAM4EU Partnerships)
Area A: Conduct a prospective LCA cradle –to-grave aligned with SSbd framework assessing lithium-ion and sodium-ion chemistries and benchmark against state-of-the-art.
The environmental assessment will be combined with a circularity and criticality assessment, as well as and economic analysis. Circularity performance indicators will be applied following ISO 59020 framework. The economic analysis will rely on a hybrid bottom-up and top-down LCC methodology, enabling detailed process-level cost modelling complemented with system-level cost validation.
Area B: No environmental nor economic requirements.
Area C: Conduct a prospective LCA cradle –to-grave aligned with SSbd framework focused on electrode materials. The advanced materials will also be evaluated on circularity, critical raw materials, and economic performance. Circularity performance indicators will be applied following ISO 59020 framework. The economic analysis will rely on a hybrid bottom-up and top-down LCC methodology, enabling detailed process-level cost modelling complemented with system-level cost validation.
