GBC can assess the impact of wind energy systems on biodiversity (namely offshore) assessing it prior and after “interventions”, and/or by performing a thorough monitorization throughout time, analysing community or individuals responses to these anthropogenic stressors. Most relevant species can be targeted or one can perform a full scan; samples can be air, water, surfaces swabs, and others. For topic HORIZON-CL5-2026-09-D3-03: Innovative technologies and solutions to improve wind energy systems supporting the Strategic Energy Technology (SET) Plan on wind, GBC can contribute to:

• "Increased contribution of wind energy to the energy system, with minimal impacts on health and the environment (notably biodiversity and pollution) and at the lowest possible cost."

• "Sustainability and circularity: material substitution for decarbonisation, material reduction, recycling methods, lifetime extension via re-using, refurbishing and re-purposing, new decommissioning tools and methods and solutions to minimise the environmental and biodiversity impacts and optimise the socio-economic impacts."
