MBM Future Health, Access to Innovative Medicines MBM Future Health offers strategic advice for international stakeholders on access to novel medicines. Public Health and evidence-based decision-making have been the centre of my work for 20 years, almost 10 years at Germany’s top health policy body, the G-BA. My particular focus for 15 years has been on rare diseases, including cell and gene therapies. A challenge I currently tackle is the use of real-world data, as well as the use of AI in clinical trials. I am pleased to offer you strategic regulatory advice to ensure that patients get access to the best possible new medicines. For rare diseases and other neglected diseases. About me
I have been working for 20 years in public health and access to medicines, including almost 10 years at Germany’s highest HTA decision-making body in the Statutory Health Insurance System, the G-BA (Gemeinsamer Bundesausschuss, Federal Joint Committee).
At the introduction of the mandatory evaluation of medicines by the G-BA in 2011, I prepared binding evidence-based resolutions in Germany. My main responsibilities included scientific advice with national and European regulators. From the outset, I set up and coordinated the national policy procedure for orphan drugs. This policy includes most advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs).
The G-BA also entrusted me with external relations. I am still a regular speaker, e.g., at the Market Access Society in Paris.
At the beginning of my career, I worked as a public health specialist in Tanzania, Morocco, Burundi and Guinea, as well as as a dental medicine practitioner in Germany. After my French Baccalauréat in Morocco, I graduated with a German Doctorate Degree in Dental Medicine and hold a postgraduate Master of Science (MSc) in International Health from the Charité University Hospital, Berlin.
