Mehmet Şahin

I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Iskenderun Technical University. Our department is the only unit at the university that has been accepted into the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN). Through the Department of Industrial Engineering, we actively engage in joint R&D projects with SMEs and large-scale companies in the region, and provide consultancy services in areas including circular value creation, process improvement, decision support systems, and AI-supported manufacturing and product development. My academic and professional expertise lies in decision support systems and data-driven innovation. I also hold an MBA from the University of Rochester’s Simon Business School and spent nearly three years in the United States, an experience that significantly shaped my international and interdisciplinary perspective. My work focuses on bridging advanced analytics with management practice, and I am particularly interested in translating analytical insights into practical innovation outcomes. Recently, we initiated an AI-based product development R&D project with ASAŞ Filtre (https://asasfilter.com.tr/), a major filter manufacturing company in the region. Through participation in the Global Innovation Summit, I aim to explore collaboration opportunities and connect with suitable partners for joint R&D initiatives, particularly in innovation-driven value creation projects eligible for future Eurostars, EUREKA, and Circular Value Creation calls.
