Genomic trust layer for authenticating premium coffee varieties in European specialty coffee value chains

For the GATE5.0 Open Call, Huella Café is seeking a Technology SME partner to co-develop and pilot the digital layer of Seed2Cup. The project will focus on turning an existing TRL 6 technical basis into a market-ready demonstrator by building:

• a secure SaaS/API workflow for sample registration, data upload and analysis;

• a bioinformatic matching engine connected to a curated coffee varietal fingerprint database;

• quality-control and traceability logs for each analysed sample;

• digital certificates in human-readable and machine-readable formats;

• a dashboard for roasters, importers and laboratory partners;

• a pilot demonstrator with real green coffee samples and European specialty coffee stakeholders.

The ideal technology partner should have proven capabilities in one or more of the following areas: SaaS development, API architecture, data platforms, cybersecurity, cloud deployment, bioinformatics workflow productisation, digital identity, certification systems, traceability or data governance.
