About

We are seeking potential partners to develop a competitive Horizon Europe proposal under HORIZON-CL4-2027-01-MAT-PROD-22: Innovative advanced materials and new production processes – reducing dependencies on Critical and Strategic Raw Materials.

The call aims to reduce European dependencies on critical and strategic raw materials through the development of innovative advanced materials (IAMs), resource-efficient industrial processes, and integrated material-process solutions.

We are particularly interested in identifying organisations with expertise in the following areas:

  • Advanced material developers and research organisations: Design, development, synthesis and characterisation of innovative advanced materials capable of partially or fully substituting critical and strategic raw materials while maintaining or improving technical performance.

  • Industrial process developers and technology providers: Development and optimisation of manufacturing and production technologies that reduce critical raw material consumption, improve material efficiency, minimise waste and enhance process flexibility, safety and scalability.

  • Industrial manufacturers and technology integrators: Integration of innovative advanced materials and production technologies into industrial processes and final products, including co-development approaches combining material and process innovation.

  • Industrial end-users and demonstration partners: Companies operating in strategic sectors such as energy, mobility, construction, electronics, medical devices and chemicals, providing relevant industrial use cases, validation facilities and demonstration environments.

  • Pilot-scale and industrial validation partners: Organisations with facilities and capabilities to demonstrate technological performance, operational feasibility, scalability and industrial applicability, supporting progression from TRL 5 to TRL 7.

  • Business and exploitation partners: Organisations supporting industrial uptake, value-chain integration, market positioning and commercialisation of the developed technologies.

The proposed collaboration should address material substitution, more efficient use of critical and strategic raw materials, or the co-development of innovative materials and industrial processes. The solutions should demonstrate improvements in technical performance, safety, sustainability, cost-efficiency and European supply-chain resilience.

Blue Synergy (Spain) is interested in contributing expertise in Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD), Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Life Cycle Costing (LCC), Techno-Economic Assessment (TEA), circularity, social sustainability and exploitation strategies.

We welcome expressions of interest from potential project coordinators, research and technology organisations, industrial companies, SMEs and other stakeholders interested in building a strong consortium for this call.

Call deadline: 2 February 2027.
